René and Jaap were warm, welcoming hosts who respected our privacy and yet helped with many local tips and made us feel like true guests. We took René’s tour which was great- we learned so much about Utrecht on a fun tour. Location was perfect- easy walk to the old town, restaurants and food markets. Close to the train made for easy trips to Amsterdam and The Hague. The apartment was beautiful and comfortable. We appreciated the fresh fruit, flowers, snacks, ample tourist information and well stocked kitchen. Spacious living /dining area had huge windows overlooking the canal. Rear patio provided a peaceful area overlooking a lovely garden to dine and relax. It felt so peaceful to return after a day of touring. Thank you, René and Jaap for a wonderful stay.”

René’s place was charming and well appointed, and came complete with deep local knowledge, convenient location, and all the amenities I needed. A lovely retreat for me during a conference week in Utrecht. I had a wonderful stay in Utrecht and felt quite at home.
The apartment as well as René and Jaap as hosts were wonderful and soooo nice. Can only be recommended. We had a wonderful time and a great start to those holiday weeks. Utrecht itself is very romantic and beautiful to discover. With the bicycles of René and Jaap we could explore the city super. We would like to come again.

Utrecht selber ist sehr romantisch und zum entdecken schön. Mit den Fahrrädern von René und Jaap konnten wir die Stadt super erkundschaften. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.
René is a wonderful host! His place was excellent- sparking clean with fresh flowers and a variety of snacks thoughtfully provided. I was here for a conference, and Rene not only provided kind words when I was nervous for my speech, but also drove me to the train station when it was time to leave. You’re sure to have a lovely time here.
This is a truly amazing apartment in one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the Netherlands! Conveniently located just steps from Utrecht Centraal railway station (5 min walk) and a ten minute bicycle ride (very nice bicycles provided with apartment) to the historic center! Both my wife and I agree René’s apartment is the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in! Everything from the lovely houseboats and treelined canal view through the enormous north facing windows to the beautiful back veranda above the lovely garden were superb, as well as the well appointed kitchen, the very comfortable bed with high thread count sheets, and the great shower with extra towels and wash cloths make this a great apartment. René is a super host! You will love your stay in Utrecht!”
We really enjoyed our stay at René’s place! The apartment is brilliant! It’s located 5 min. by bike from the city center and right next to the canal. René’s hospitality was outstanding. He was always around for tips on which places to visit in Utrecht and even made us a list with events that took place while we were there.
Rene and Jaap’s apartment is very clean, stylish and in a wonderful central location making it easy to get around and tour Utrecht and the surrounding areas. As is the case with many older European cities, the roads in the city center circle around and can be confusing to navigate. If you do things correctly, it only takes 10-15 minutes to walk from Centraal Station to the apartment. If you use Google Maps to get your route, be sure to select a “walking” route as I accidentally got directions as if I were driving and was routed in a less efficient manner! My bad.”
