Both René and Jaap are exceptionally considerate Hosts with extensive knowledge about Utrecht, all it offers, and the best way to move around this beautiful city. My two weeks in Utrecht was exactly what I needed it to be primarily because their home was well equipped with everything to make my stay comfortable and their hospitality was unwavering. My main focus while in Utrecht was to engage in a writing project and the spacious and comfortable lounge area as well as the back garden – which is an incredibly large, lush botanical haven – provided the best possible setting! The bedroom with adjoining bathroom was super comfortable with ample storage space: it has lot’s of natural light as well as a balcony (that overlooks the large garden area) where I enjoyed my first cup of coffee every morning. The fully equipped kitchen allowed me to cook my own meals when I wasn’t feasting somewhere in the many cafes and restaurants, all in walking distance. The surrounding area is as picturesque as you may imagine the best of Netherlands to be, especially the quaint city of Utrecht with its many canals, bicycle pathways, open spaces, cafes, shopping areas, and friendly people. Only a 10 minute walk from Utrecht Centraal train station, I enjoyed navigating my way around Utrecht and other towns. I recommend this wonderfully positioned home to anyone needing reassurance of where to stay in Utrecht that has a great location, historic charm, and practical modern amenities all-in-one! Most importantly, I recommend René and Jaap as the most Super of Super Hosts for their ultimate consideration and determination to provide you with everything you need to feel at home! Wonderful place, wonderful hosts, wonderful location, we hope to be back here.
We had a great stay at René and Jap's amazing canal house. The apartment offers everything you need for a successful holiday:
bright, large rooms with a great view of the canal to the front and the great garden to the rear. Everything is very tastefully furnished.
The kitchen is well equipped. The apartment is in a very quiet area. The small street in front of the house is only used by bicycles.
Cars are only allowed to drive at walking pace here. René accompanied us to the free parking lot upon arrival. This is about a 7-minute
walk from the house. We were allowed to use the bikes and were able to explore Utrecht. All in all a great vacation also thanks to
René's and Jap's hospitality. The two are very nice and always approachable, but also reserved and you have your privacy. Thanks a lot
for this! We'd love to come back!
Wir hatten einen großartigen Aufenthalt in Renés und Japs tollen Grachtenhaus. Das Apartment bietet alles, was man für einen gelungenen Urlaub braucht: helle große Räume, mit tollen Blick nach vorne auf die Gracht und nach hinten in den tollen Garten. Alles ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet. Die Wohnung ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Die kleine Straße vor dem Haus wird nur von Fahrrädern befahren. Autos dürfen hier nur im Schritttempo fahren. René hat uns bei der Ankunft zum kostenfreien Parkplatz begleitet. Dieser ist fußläufig circa 7 Minuten vom Haus entfernt. Wir durften die Fahrräder benutzen und konnten so Utrecht erkunden. Alles in allem ein toller Urlaub auch dank Renés und Japs Gastfreundschaft. Die beiden sind sehr nett und immer ansprechbar, aber auch zurückhaltend und man hat seine Privatsphäre. Vielen Dank dafür! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

René is a great host. The bikes are very useful to get into the beautiful city centre, which is just 10 minutes away on the bikes.

This is the perfect apartment to book if you are visiting Utrecht. The old city center is just a few minutes walk away and yet the picturesque neighbourhood, on the banks of the Old Rhine, is quiet. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very spacious and comfortable. The hosts have taken extra trouble to make sure you have everything you need. I cannot recommend this place highly enough – I would definitely come back again.
René and Japp are very nice and great hosts. We didn't miss anything. The bnb is very well equipped. Perfect location.

René’s Airbnb could not have been better. René and his partner Jaap exceeded the indications they made online in the Airbnb listing. Despite terrible cold and rainy weather in Amsterdam, René made certain that we we were warmly welcomed. The incredibly positive vibes were received upon arrival were repeated many times during our stay. We have already considered subsequent visits to their wonderful home.
