René and Jaap’s apartment is amazing, a home from home, which it definitely became after staying there for a whole 3 weeks! This is also how the 2 hosts let you feel. On arrival we were welcomed heartily by Jaap and led to the apartment where flowers and a bowl of fresh fruit awaited us in the beautifully furnished, very spacious living area with its lovely view on the canal with romantic houseboats and the bridge lovely lit at night. A bottle of red wine and drinks waited in the kitchen for relaxing on the balcony facing the green garden. Bedroom and bathroom are small but well equipped with all necessities. The small passage linking kitchen and living room is also used by the hosts for entering their bedroom upstairs but did not bother us at all. Jaap and René are very likeable people, considerate, concerned about our wellbeing all the time, willing to help with everything and spoiling us! Fresh flowers every week, the famous Utrechtsche appelbollen and and and… Superhosts for a reason! A great advantage were also the two bicycles they offer for guests – there’s no way without a bike in Utrecht! And so much fun! But then also – the apartment is ideally situated very centrally with a mere 8-10 min walk to Centraal and appr. 20 minutes and one is in the lovely center. The lively Kanaalstraat with multicultural vibes, colourful shops, small exotic restaurants is only 5 minutes away. It felt like saying goodbye to good old friends when I had to leave and I would definitely stay there again! Also – Utrecht is worth more than one visit !
